About the Family Reading Challenge
The Family Reading Challenge is an initiative adopted by the Family Development Foundation, driven by its firm belief in the pivotal role of the family in social upbringing, addressing various social issues, and achieving sustainable development for all its members. The Family Reading Challenge is the first cultural project that promotes reading as a civilizational family endeavor, encouraging family members to embrace reading as a way of life that fosters knowledge, strengthens communication and dialogue among family members, safeguards future generations from harmful ideologies, builds critical thinking skills, and raises family awareness of the importance of reading as a fundamental tool for shaping well-rounded human character.
This is achieved through the development of innovative and creative solutions that contribute to mitigating the risks of social problems, creating an environment that promotes reading and sustainable knowledge exchange within the family unit, optimizing family time, increasing quality time among members, and diversifying the topics and methods of dialogue across different age groups within the family and the community — ultimately contributing to the intellectual development of family members, the strengthening of the Arabic language among younger generations, and the preservation of national identity.
